Kay friend’s daughter was not developing academically. Sadly, it took years for her to figure out her daughter had dyslexia. Kay had training in the Wilson Reading System, a multisensory curriculum based on the strategies of Orton-Gillingham, to help the fifth grader. She read her first book by the end of their first summer! This experience led Ms. Kerezy to purse a degree in special education.
Proving age has no barriers, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education. Her full-time jobs have included a Title I Reading Tutor at a public school for students with disabilities, an Intervention Specialist, and a fifth-grade teacher at a private school for students with dyslexia. Ms. Kerezy worked part-time at the Cleveland and Columbus Dyslexia Centers while working full-time for a school.
She has an Ohio Special Education license, along with a Reading Endorsement. She holds certifications at the Associate and Certified levels of Orton-Gillingham. Working with students in K – 12, she is comfortable with students of all ages.
